I've been concerned about the national debt. Dollars are being spent billions at a time resulting in trillion dollar debt. I guess maybe it is possible for somebody to pay off the huge bill. Lets see.... if you make 40 million a year and can apply the total amount to the national debt...then you would only have to work 250,000 years.

I thought writing a second book would be so much easier than the first. It's so difficult when you have to work a real job to pay the bills. It probably compares to becoming a professional basketball player. Thousands of people play basketball...but only dozens make it to the NBA. Thousands of people write ....but only dozens publish books. I guess having released one book that makes me a semi-pro

Old stuff 05/18/2010

Getting old isn't easy. The body goes through many changes. We know these things happen, but it is just difficult to accept. Our nose gets bigger, yet we lose our sense of smell. Our ears get bigger and our hearing gets worse. Our breasts sag and our hair thins. Our bellies bulge, our seats expand, and our feet go flat. And if you think
those problems are tough....you need to see what women have to suffer

Okay, so what's up with the weather anyway. On Friday it was 70 degrees and beautiful. On Saturday the high was 31 degrees and it snowed all day. What is a fellow supposed to do. I had all of these plans to work in the yard, get the lawn mower tuned up, prepare the vegetable garden and so on. Instead, I'm sitting in my kitchen contemplating the weather. The wind is howling, the snowflakes are screaming down and I'm bored.  Crazy Oklahoma weather! I guess I the sorriest for the little hibernating animals. What do they do...wake up, go to sleep, wake up, go to sleep...? Oh well, on to writing projects!

Okay, so maybe our first book, Twin Motives, has not made the New York Times bestseller list. What a great time Mark and I have had writing and learning the complicated business of publishing a book. On to the next!! While we are still marketing Twin Motives, Mark and I have been working on the new book, a mysterious sequel to the first with, yes, twins playing a major role. Stay tuned. And by the way, we have other projects on the burner as well so stay in touch everybody!

Life is funny. Who would have thought that McDonald's would be a great venue for writing books? Well, that is where Mark and I do some of our most creative thinking. We wrangle with our writing over some pancakes and coffee each week at a local Mickey D. Of course, there are the local retired gentlemen over by the window every time to keep us company. And a truck driver is a regular. Most of the time, however, we find it easy to get immersed in our writing without much interruption. Amazing. We have to be careful, however. Occasionally, Mark or I will read a section of what we have written out loud to each other to see how it sounds. On one such morning, Mark read a piece for Twin Motives that included some playful affection between a husband and wife. When read out loud it sounded like Mark and I were using the words "babe" and "honey" to each other. The old gentlemen next to the window began to stare. We still laugh about that today. Yikes.

Okay, we started our web page with limited knowledge. Our posts have been few and far between and without much direction. Actually we seem to go in too many directions. We hope to tie everything together. We want to link our web page to our personal facebook pages as well as the "Twin Motives" facebook page along with anything else we can round up If you read any of our works please leave a comment.

My new car 01/13/2010

I noticed that mainly older people seemed to always be driving the same make and model car that I recently purchased. Elderly pink haired ladies most often appear behind the wheel. Perhaps it is coincidence or maybe I feel that way because I just celebrated a birthday. Then again this could be a vehicle old people are just supposed to own. After all, take away the last few letters oMarquis.... and you're left with GRANDMA

The problem with new years resolutions are that people set the standards to high, make goals to complex, or create a task that is simply unrealistic. I think resolutions can be good if they remain achievable. My  goal for this year is to exercise daily. I will commit to one sit up a day. I will do half a sit up as I get out of bed in the morning and the other half when I lay down at night.
