The Train Beginning to Move Down the Tracks 03/14/2010
0 Comments

Okay, so maybe our first book, Twin Motives, has not made the New York Times bestseller list. What a great time Mark and I have had writing and learning the complicated business of publishing a book. On to the next!! While we are still marketing Twin Motives, Mark and I have been working on the new book, a mysterious sequel to the first with, yes, twins playing a major role. Stay tuned. And by the way, we have other projects on the burner as well so stay in touch everybody!

Who would have thought? 03/06/2010

Life is funny. Who would have thought that McDonald's would be a great venue for writing books? Well, that is where Mark and I do some of our most creative thinking. We wrangle with our writing over some pancakes and coffee each week at a local Mickey D. Of course, there are the local retired gentlemen over by the window every time to keep us company. And a truck driver is a regular. Most of the time, however, we find it easy to get immersed in our writing without much interruption. Amazing. We have to be careful, however. Occasionally, Mark or I will read a section of what we have written out loud to each other to see how it sounds. On one such morning, Mark read a piece for Twin Motives that included some playful affection between a husband and wife. When read out loud it sounded like Mark and I were using the words "babe" and "honey" to each other. The old gentlemen next to the window began to stare. We still laugh about that today. Yikes.

Okay, we started our web page with limited knowledge. Our posts have been few and far between and without much direction. Actually we seem to go in too many directions. We hope to tie everything together. We want to link our web page to our personal facebook pages as well as the "Twin Motives" facebook page along with anything else we can round up If you read any of our works please leave a comment.

My new car 01/13/2010

I noticed that mainly older people seemed to always be driving the same make and model car that I recently purchased. Elderly pink haired ladies most often appear behind the wheel. Perhaps it is coincidence or maybe I feel that way because I just celebrated a birthday. Then again this could be a vehicle old people are just supposed to own. After all, take away the last few letters oMarquis.... and you're left with GRANDMA

New Years Resolution 01/01/2010

The problem with new years resolutions are that people set the standards to high, make goals to complex, or create a task that is simply unrealistic. I think resolutions can be good if they remain achievable. My  goal for this year is to exercise daily. I will commit to one sit up a day. I will do half a sit up as I get out of bed in the morning and the other half when I lay down at night.

Hope and Change 12/23/2009

I think I misunderstood our President when he was campaigning. I thought he ran on the promise of hope and change. He has been in office about a year and I'm pretty sure he must have said "HOPE FOR CHANGE." After all the new government spending and coming tax increases we will all be fortunate if we have any change left in our pockets. Pray for change might be more appropriate.

Black Friday 11/26/2009

Great news! I heard from the radio that retailers are expecting Christmas sales to be up from last year. The predictions range from 0% to as much as a 3% increase in consumer spending. When I was in school 0% was not considered an increase. Enjoy your shopping. I think I'll be part of the 0% bunch this year and sleep in on Black Friday.

Depression 10/22/2009

Just a thought about depression. This has nothing to do with the nation's economic policies and the fact that unemployment is at and all time high, or that businesses are going bust, or that people are losing their homes, or that our freedoms are being stolen from us, or that the drug cartels are over running our major cities, or that as a nation we are beginning to accept socialism as our new form of government, or even that our families are being torn apart.
I was going to talk about the many commercials from the drug companies that   are now on television. I thought we were being overly bombarded with pills for depression. I didn't think the problem was that wide spread. But, after listing all the above problems, I guess it is easy to to understand why the drug companies are marketing so heavily to us.
I think I'll take a Cimbalta and go to bed!
